About us

What are the Day Centers for Psychosocial Support of Workers?

The Day Centres are sectoral services to promote the mental health and well-being of the working population.  They are supervised by the Ministry of Health with funding from the Recovery Fund and run by the Pan-Hellenic Union for Psycho-social Rehabilitation and Work Integration (PEPSAEE). The PEPSAEE was established in 1996 to support the social integration of people experiencing psychosocial difficulties.

The Day Centers are implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0 with funding from the European Union-Next GenerationEU.

The Employee Support Day Centers are a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Health at national and European level.

The primary objective of the Centres is to provide quality mental health services free of charge to workers. Services are provided both on a group and individual level.

The approach is multi-leveled and multifaceted, based on the following axes:

  • information and awareness-raising programmes
  • support for organisational improvement in the workplace in order to create a safe and supportive working environment
  • information and awareness-raising activities, including awareness-raising, information and information campaigns, and the promotion and prevention of workers' mental health
  • individual and/or group support (brief psychotherapy, career counselling, prevention of psychiatric disorders, etc.)

The multidisciplinary team of the  Support Centres consists of:

  • Psychologists
  • Social Workers
  • Health Visitor
  • Career Counsellors
  • Psychiatrist
  • Legal Advisor

Our services

The services provided by the Day Centers include a wide range of group and/or individual interventions and are tailored to the needs of the organisation and the individual within it. All services are offered FREE of charge

 

Indicative:

  • Training and awareness raising for business executives to promote the employee wellness
  • Stress management and burnout counseling and/ or brief therapy
  • Promoting well-being in the work environment
  • Addressing potential psychological stress in the work environment (e.g. moral and sexual harassment, stigmatisation, discrimination)

We conduct individual sessions (via internet or with physical presence), which are indicatively specialised:

  • - Brief psychotherapeutic intervention
  • Training in basic communication and problem-solving skills in order to enhance mental resilience
  • Support for coping with problems in work and daily life
  • Counselling on work-related issues

There is a possibility for remote intervention and online provision of services and conducting psychotherapeutic or counseling sessions.
